Tips to Improve Your Homes Curb Appeal

Whether you have a starter home, or you have a million dollar manor, curb appeal adds value to your home. That’s important for those of us who love to come home to a beautiful oasis (and who doesn’t), and it’s crucial if you ever plan on selling your home. Now, if you want to be the talk of the town thanks to your home’s curb appeal, we’re here to provide you with the tips you’ll need to make the most of your property. You’re sure to get the neighbors and impress passersby with these home improvement, and curb appeal boosting tips.

Landscaping Counts

It’s likely that the first thing folks see when they turn the corner and notice your property is your landscaping. Don’t waste the opportunity to impress onlookers with a picturesque landscape. Here are a few tips you can employ to make the most of your property.

The Grass Ought to Be Greener

First things first, be sure to make your grass as green and pristine as possible. A weed-free, mowed, green lawn

looks far better than an overgrown, patchy tangle of weeds. If you have a yard that’s anything but lush, bring in a green thumb to take a look at your grass. Your lawn may be the first thing that folks notice, so it’s smart to make it greener than the other side (your neighbor’s lawn).

Enlighten Your Landscape

If you don’t already have landscape lighting, it’s time to consider a bit of an outdoor renovation. Install Malibu lighting, lamp posts, and other lighting features to accent your home, even during evenings and night. Plus, landscape lighting isn’t just more welcoming, it also provides some security for your home.

Freshen Up Your Features

If you have mulch beds that are dry, discolored, or completely washed out, it’s time to add a fresh layer. A few inches of fresh mulch can work wonders for your landscape, and it can be beneficial for plants throughout your mulch beds. Mulch looks great, plus it retains moisture and nutrients that your flora needs to thrive.

Plant a Tree

Planting a tree or two is one of the best investments that you can make, especially if you plan on living in your home for a few years. Trees don’t just provide shade, they make a home, well, more homely. Over a decade or so, a single tree can add thousands in value to your home.

Take a Keen Look at Your Siding

Next up, it’s time to look at your home itself. If you have dilapidated, outdated siding, it’s time to repair it or replace it. While some homes could simply use a fresh coat of paint, and others could just use a quick high-pressure spray cleaning, some siding can’t be saved. If that’s the case, it’s best to act right away, so that your home’s infrastructure isn’t damaged by weather.
